Quest Group of Institutions (Jhanjeri), celebrated the festival of harvest, Lohri, with great fervour on January 13, 2014. All were dressed up in colourful traditional Punjabi dresses. A huge bonfire was lit by Director Prinicipal,Dr.R.S.Khela, to mark the inauguration of the ceremony. He addressed the students & staff by wishing them a very happy Lohri and said that” Lohri sets the tone for the whole year ahead – the more joyous and bountiful the occasion, the greater will be the peace and prosperity.Hence lets begin this new year & new session with complete earnestness & vigour, which this festival is symbolic of”.
The function was started with the famed and most favourite song for the occasion, with students demanding Lohri money from Director sir & all the reaming staff members by Singing “Sunder Mundriye Ho!!!” Students and staff danced around bonfire on the tunes of Dhol and Punjabi songs in the campus. Students also sang other traditional songs and livened up the atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed groundnuts and jaggery sweets in the warmth of the bonfire. The boys and girls presented a lively show with folk songs, Giddha and Bhangra followed by fun-filled activities for the audience.
