B.Tech (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)
B.Tech (MECHANICAL ENGINEERING)
There are very few Mechanical Engineering Colleges in Punjab, which have remained always in demand and continue to be in the future. Mechanical Engineering deals with the application of the laws of nature at the micro/macro level. This broad and diverse field includes design & thermal analysis of components, machines & power generators. It also includes simulation, modeling & control of plants/process/industries, non-destructive testing Quest Group of Institutions provides great scope in Mechanical Engineering.
Mechanical Engineers play an important role in the design and manufacturing of everything from small individual parts and devices (e.g., inkjet printer nozzles and microscale sensors) to large systems (e.g., aircraft, spacecraft, and machine tools).
For B.Tech. 1st Year – 10+2 (PCM) from a recognized Board with minimum 45% marks.
For LEET (2nd Year) – 3 Year Polytechnic Diploma in any stream from a recognized Board with minimum 45% marks.
For International Students– 12 years of formal schooling with Mathematics and Science Subjects with at least 45% marks from a Board/ University recognized by the Government of the respective Country.

Mechanical Engineering finds applications in all fields of technology. So Mechanical Engineers work in private and public sector industries of various types, and their work varies by industry and function. Some of the prominent sectors of industry which recruit mechanical engineers are :
- Automotive : Vehicles chassis and subsystems i.e. engine, transmission, sensors etc.
- Aerospace : Airplanes, aircraft engines, control systems for airplanes and spacecraft
- Biotechnology : Implants, prosthetic devices, fluidic systems for pharmaceutical industries
- Computers and Electronics : Disk drives, printers, cooling systems, semiconductor tools
- Micro Electromechanical Systems : Sensors, actuators, micropower generation
- Energy Conversion : Gas turbines, wind turbines, solar energy, fuel cells
- Environmental Control : HVAC, air-conditioning, refrigeration, compressors
- Automation : Robots, data and image acquisition, recognition, control
- Manufacturing : Machining, machine tools, prototyping, microfabrication
With the rapid rate of expansion in the industrial sector, the employment potential for mechanical engineers is enormously high.
